1 Day Akagera national park You can take a one-day Akagera Safari from Kigali to Rwanda’s only savanna national park where you can go on a true wildlife safari, and observe the big five mammals such as elephants, lions, and rhinoceros. The Akagera National Park lies in the eastern province of Rwanda in the district known as Kayonza that is situated on the border with Tanzania and lies just a few kilometers from the Rwandan border.
Day 1: Transfer to Akagera national park and a full Game drive
Rise up early in the morning have breakfast and on this day you will take part in the game drive that will give you the chance to watch a number of animals in the park like the different animals which rise early to graze ;like the elephants, gazelles, bush bucks, topis, carnivores like the lions, leopards looking for their prey, hyenas, leopards catching their prey in the wild and many other animal species for a rewarding safari experience after the rewarding encounter your driver/guide will drive back to Kigali having lunch en-route and later be dropped off at a hotel of your choice in Kigali City or Kigali international airport in case you have a flight to catch back home.
Alternatively, as part of your 1 day safari in Akagera national park, instead of participating in the full day game drive in Akagera national park you can participate in the boat cruise in the park. You will be met by your driver guide at your agreed location in Kigali city to transfer to Akagera national park where you will arrive in time to embark in the you can participate in the boat cruise on Lake Ihema which will give you the opportunity to enjoy the boat rides on the Lake where you will have the chance to watch a number of rewarding features in the wild like the king fishers in the wild, the elephants quenching their thirst the rhinos, as you are driven near the water sources, you will get to see a number of species like hippopotamuses, Crocodiles and many bird species like the endangered shoe bill stork, African King fishers catching their prey from the Lake that live around the lake and the surrounding swamps.
After your Safari, return to connect with your driver guide to embark on your transfer back to Kigali having lunch enroute after you will be dropped at a location of your choice in Kigali city or at the Kigali international airport airport as you may advise and the end of your safari.
