1 Day Ngamba Island Safari Experience: Ngamba Island is home to the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Uganda, where rehabilitation for orphaned chimpanzees, chimpanzees that were rescued from poachers, and many more are provided. Visiting Ngamba Island will give you the chance to take care of the species for a day, providing a rewarding experience. The safari will start with pickup from either Entebbe or Kampala city, where a representative of our company will meet you and transfer you to Ngamba Island. The journey to the island involves a boat ride, and you will arrive in time to visit the sanctuary. On reaching, you’ll participate in feeding the chimpanzees from a raised platform, which will allow you to take beautiful pictures of the species. You will get to watch them grooming one another, swinging from the tree branches, and many other rewarding attributes.
You will enjoy spending time learning more about the sanctuary, the conservation efforts that have been put in place, how the caregivers get to take care of the species, and other rewarding aspects of the experience. After the experience, you will participate in the boat cruise on Lake Victoria, which can be done either by using canoes or speed boats, but both options will offer scenic views, enjoying the water birds, watching the fishermen fish, and many other rewarding experiences.
After the boat ride, you can take part in a walking safari to enjoy watching the different attractions in the park, including different bird species, other primates, and wildlife species like the monitor lizards and many more. After the experience, head back to kampala or Entebbe, where you will be dropped off at a location of your choice, and this will mark the end of your 1 day Ngamba Island safari experience.
