3 days Nyungwe National Park : Visit the primate hub in Rwanda where you will get to observe a number of primate species like the Hamlyn’s monkey, black and white colobus monkey the Mona monkey, the vervet monkey, the chimpanzee which are the dominant primate species that can be seen in the park. Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
In the morning, you will be picked by the driver from your hotel in Kigali or from the Kigali international airport and drive southwards to Nyungwe forest National park. You will have a stopover in Butare, where you will visit the national museum of Rwanda, the king’s palace in Nyanza, and the Rwanda genocide memorial site. After lunch, connect to your accommodation to spend the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Top Hill View Hotel/ Gisakura Visitor Centre
Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and canopy walk
Enjoy breakfast and go for briefing about the endangered chimpanzees before entering the forest in search of the active and playful fellows in Nyungwe forest. During Chimpanzee trekking in Rwanda are much easier to spot as they jump from one tree to another, chattering and laughing. Chimpanzee tracking usually takes about 3 hours. On finding them, spend an hour while taking pictures and videos. You will then return to your accommodation for lunch. After lunch, you will go on a walking trail that will take you to the Canopy Walk-a swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees. You will be able to see the amazing rainforest with a bird’s eye view, spotting wildlife moving about below you. Before night fall, you will return to the lodge for dinner as above
Day 3: Transfer to Kigali and city tour
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel and leisure you will embark on a 5 hours’ drive back to Kigali city with en route visit to Nyanza king’s palace and Rwanda national museum in Huye and Murambi genocide museum. Arrive in Kigali and also visit the craft shops and the Kigali genocide memorial. Have lunch and connect to the airport for your return flight to your next destination
