5 Days Akagera National Park Safari : Akagera national park was gazetted as a national park to protect the ecosystem and wildlife in 1934 in the Eastern part of Rwanda
DAY 1: TRANSFER TO AKAGERA NATIONAL
At an agreed location in Kigali City, you will be met by your guide who wil transfer you to Akagera national park. Before you embark on your way to the park you will participate in the Kigali city tour which will lead you the genocide memorial museum which will give you the chance to understand more about the 1994 Rwanda genocide, you can visit the Kimironko market and many other rewarding sites for a memorable safari experience. After they experience, you will make your way to the park checking in your hotel for dinner and overnight. Dinner and overnight at Karenge bush Camp (budget)
DAY 2: MORNING GAME DRIVE AND AFTERNOON BOAT CRUISE
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked by your guide who will transfer you to the park plains to participate in the morning game drives which will give you the chance to observe a number animal species like the early risers in the wild grazing within the park’s plains. After the morning game drive, you will head to your hotel for relaxation and later in the afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema where you will see game like hippopotamuses, Crocodiles and many bird species that live around the lake and the surrounding swamps. DAY 3: EARLY MORNING GAME DRIVE AND EVENING GAME DRIVE.
On the 3rd day of your 5 Days Akagera National Park Safari, Rise up early and go for a game drive with great anticipation of seeing the different animals which rise early to graze and predators looking for their early morning kill. After the game drive, return to connect with your driver guide and drive back to your lodge for lunch. After lunch, you spend the rest of your afternoon relaxing at your lodge and later in the evening you will meet up with your guide and embark on an evening game drive in the park. Get to watch wildlife animals as they return to their dens for the night. Later drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Dinner and overnight at Karenge bush Camp (budget)
DAY 4: BEHIND THE SCENES TOUR AND AFTERNOON COMMUNITY TOUR
Have breakfast at your lodge in the morning and head out for a behind the scenes tour in Akagera national park. Get on the management of the park for additional insights into Akagera park, where you will meet employees at the park while learning about exciting conservation developments in Akagera. This activity takes 1½ hours. Return back to your lodge for lunch. Later in the afternoon you will embark on a community cultural tour to one of the local communities neighboring the park. Get an opportunity to interact with the friendly locals and watch dance and singing performances from the local dance troupe. You can also visit some craft stalls in the community and support the local community by purchasing a few souvenirs for yourself and loved ones. DAY 5: GAME DRIVE AND TRANSFER BACK TO KIGALI.
After an earl morning breakfast, at your hotel, you will be picked by your guide who wil transfer you to the plains for a morning game drive which will give you th opportunity to watch the park life for the last time before you set off to head back to Kigali city. After the experience, your driver/guide will drive back to Kigali where you will be dropped off at a hotel of your choice or Kigali international airport in case you have a flight to catch back home. You can do a city tour on this day if you didn’t get to do it on your first day. End of Tour.
