Detailed itinerary for the 5 Days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari

Day 1: Pickup  and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Upon your arrival in Uganda, you will be picked at a location of your choice by your tour guide, who will give you a briefing session on the rules and regulations to follow or an amazing time during the safari. After the rewarding experience, you will transfer to Kampala city where you where you will take part in the Kampala city tour which will give you the chance to visit a number of sites in the city like Nakasero market one of the oldest and largest markets in Uganda where you can purchase a number of organic fruits, traditional attires among other products. You will also get to visit Namirembe Cathedral the oldest cathedral in Uganda, Uganda mosque/ gadaffi mosque, among other rewarding sites. After the city tour you will make your way to Lake Mburo National Park, having a stopover in Mbarara town for lunch. You will make your way to the park on reaching you will transfer to your hotel or dinner an overnight stay, alternatively on reaching the park you can participate in an evening boat cruise which will give you the opportunity to see the sun setting, a number of water birds like Lesser and Great Swamp Warblers, Chubb’s and Caruthers’s Cisticola Black Crake, Common Squacco, Striated, Black-headed, Herons White-headed and Black-billed Barbet, Greenwood Hoopoe.

Day 2:  Morning game drive and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early morning breakfast at your hotel your guide for the safari will pick you up and transfer you to the park where you will take part in the morning game drive where you will have an amazing time watching a number attractions including number of water sources where you will get to see water bird species like dusky crimson wing, red-faced woodland warbler, a number of mammal species like Common Duiker, Defassa Waterbuck, Oribi reedbucks, Impalas, Buffalos, Bush pigs, Giraffes, Eland, and Zebras, Uganda kobs up-close which will make your experience quite rewarding. After the experience, you will make your way to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On reaching the park you will transfer to your hotel for checkins, refreshments, and later in the evening you will get to participate in community tours where you will get to visit the Bakonzo community an interesting group of people which will offer amazing experiences as you get to understand their culture through their dances, local dishes, you will also be taught how to harvest honey, you can also visit the salt mining villages like Katwe where you will be taught b the locals how to mine salt and take you through the entire salt mining process for a memorable Uganda safari.

Day 3: Morning game drive and evening game drive

After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you guide will pick you up and transfer to the park to participate in the morning game drive which give you the opportunity to see the park come to life as a number of wildlife species come from their hiding places to catch on their first bite of the day. You will get to see herds of zebras, Uganda kobs eating their first bites of the day; you will get to see carnivores going back to their hiding spots to monitor their prey. Along the Kazinga channel, you will get to see a number of water birds like the African Kingfisher, African Wattled Lapwing, Blue-cheeked Bee-eater, Common Squacco Heron, and Crowned Lapwing that will offer amazing experiences. head back to your hotel for lunch and leisure, you will participate then head back to the park to participate in the evening drive, where you will get to see a number of wildlife as they get to catch the last bite of the day. You will see a number of herbivores like the zebras, Uganda kobs, and antelope species, among other animal species. You will also get to see carnivorous animals like lions, leopards hyenas catching prey for dinner. After the rewarding experiences, you will transfer back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and evening boat cruise

After an early morning breakfast at your hotel in the park, your tour guide for the safari will pick you up and transfer you to Kyambura Gorge also known as the valley of apes where you will participate in chimpanzee trekking. The activity will involve you to spend time with the habituated chimpanzee troops observing their behaviour in the wild, how they co-exist with one another, their feeding patterns, how they take care of their infants among other exciting features of the primates. You will also get to take pictures of the primates at the end of your tracking experience you will head back to your hotel for lunch and relaxation.  In the evening you will participate in an evening boat cruise to take off the stress during the relaxing activity. During the boat cruise you will see the park coming to life as the sunsets; you will also see a number of herbivores like the zebras, elephants, kobs as they get to catch the last bite of the day, crocodiles sun basking, a number of water birds like the African King fisher, African Wattled Lapwing, Blue-cheeked Bee-eater, Common Squacco Heron, Crowned Lap wing, Eastern Grey Plantain-eater, Great Egret among other species. At the end of your activity, you will transfer back to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala

After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, your guide will pick you up and transfer you back to Kampala city, where you will be dropped off at a location of your choice in Kampala city after having lunch or Entebbe international airport and the end of your 5 days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth National Park safari. Alternatively, depending on your time of departure, you will participate in the Kampala city tour, where you will have an amazing time during your safari. During your Kampala city tour you will visit Nakasero market one of the oldest markets in Uganda where you can purchase a number of organic fruits among other items, you will see how Ugandans carry out their daily activities in the country among other activities, and you will also get to visit Uganda national mosque that will attract you with its architectural design including the doors and the windows which were imported from Italy, on the bright beautiful chandeliers, fort lugard museum where you will get to have an insight of Uganda before the colonial era which can also be seen when you visit the Uganda museum which will help you understand more about the culture of the people of Uganda from the different displays in the museums.
