Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Mgahinga National Park
Depending on your location in Kigali city, you will be picked by your guide to transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where you will get to participate in gorilla trekking in Uganda. Before you transfer to the park, you can participate in the Kigali city tour where you will access a number of destinations from the Kigali genocide memorial museum, Kimironko market and other sites. After the Kigali city tour, you will get to transfer to Mgahinga National Park through the cyanika border. Depending on the time you reach the hotel, you can get to participate in Batwa trail experience, to understand more about the culture of the people of Rwanda. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in the park.
Day 2: Mount Sabyinyo hike
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will make your way to the park headquarters to participate in Mount sabyinyo hike. While hiking the mountain, get ready to watch a number of different attractions like; the numerous primate species like the golden monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, Dent’s monkey and as you hike along its slopes you can also get to see a number of animal species like forest elephant, buffaloes and many other rewarding attractions. You will get to hike to the three peaks depending on your preference and interesting about the peak is the fact that you will be in three countries, Congo, Uganda and Rwanda. After the safari experience, you will make your way back to your starting point connect with your guide to transfer you to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Kigali city
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will transfer back to Kigali city where you will be dropped off at your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Mount Karisimbi hike
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will make your way to Volcanoes National Park, where you will participate in a Mount Karisimbi hike. Reach the park’s reception where you will participate in the briefing session for your activity, be assigned to a guide and a ranger and then make your way to hike the mountain. On your way to the summit, you will get to see a number of attractions like numerous bird species like Ruwenzori turaco, road throated alethe, kivu ground thrush, Ruwenzori dark collared sun bird, mountain sparked Apalis, Regal Sunbird, stripe breasted tit and because the hike takes two days for a tourist and at 3700m you will stop at the first camping site for dinner and overnight
Day 5: Reach the summit, descend
After an early morning wild breakfast as you watch amazing views from the Mount Karisimbi, you will embark on your hike to the summit where you will get to hike through thick vegetation and when you get to the summit, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the amazing views of the mountain and the neighboring virunga mountains like Mount Bisoke and Mount Muhabura, you will then descend the mountain, where your guide will be waiting for you at the headquarters and connect you to Kigali city for refreshments and lunch. After lunch you will head to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Kigali city
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will head to the park headquarters to participate in the briefing session for golden monkey trekking. After the session, you will participate in the golden monkey trekking which will lead you to the Virunga mountains in Rwanda, that you will hike to access the habituated golden monkey troops. You will get to observe how they go about their daily activities in the wild. The golden monkeys van be accessed when you hike the Virunga mountains in Rwanda which will lead you to the habituated gorilla families watching how they co-exist with one another, the environment and many other rewarding features. After the safari experience, you will head back to Kigali city at hotel des mille Collines for dinner and overnight stay.
