Activities in Kibale National Park: Kibale national park is the primate hub of Uganda where a number of tourists visit the park to see the different primate species. The park is a home to 13 primate species with the chimpanzees being the most dominant species with over 1500 numbers and 4 habituated troops that you can get to visit when you take part in chimpanzee trekking.  The park is also a home to a number of olive baboons,, monkey  species like the golden monkeys, the black and white colobus monkeys, the vervet monkeys, grey cheeked mangabeys, galago, the potto and interesting about the park is the fact that although it has the primates as dominating wildlife, you can also get to see a number of other mammal species when you take part in a number of activities like red and blue duikers, bushbucks, bush pigs, giant forest hogs, common warthogs, and African buffalo, leopards, African golden cats  and many other different attractions that can be seen when you take part in the different activities  for a rewarding Uganda safari.

Chimpanzee trekking

Chimpanzee trekking is among the most rewarding activities in Kibale national park that you can take part in to understand more about the habituated chimpanzees in the park. Habituated chimpanzee troops are found in the kanyanchu region of the park where you will access the troops and observe their behaviour. During your activity you will hike through the forests where you will; get to see a number of rewarding views of a number of primate species in the trees, numerous bird species and when you get t the chimpanzee troops you will get to hear loud hoots and claps of the chimpanzees and during the activity, you will get to observe them carrying out there daily activities like feeding, playing, grooming themselves and so on, contact with the chimpanzees is limited to only one hour once and  a maximum of 6 people are limited to a particular group of chimpanzees.

Chimpanzee habituation

The Chimpanzee Habituation Experience is also among the rewarding activities in Kibale national park for an amazing rewarding Uganda safari.  The activity differs from chimpanzee trekking which involves tracking already habituated chimpanzees that are accustomed to human presence. Chimpanzee habituation is different because it involves tourists accompanying a team of trainers and researchers that are carrying out the habituation process in the park. During the activity, you will get to see how the primates react during the trainings before they are ready to be tracked by the tourists.

Birding

Birding is among the memorable activities in Kibale national park that you can take part in for an amazing safari while in the park. Kibale national park is a home to over 400 bird species that is an opportunity to birders because they will get the chance to see over 100 bird species on your daily birding expedition in the park as compared to other birding destinations in Uganda where you will only see around 30 bird species or less making the park the ultimate birding destination. 

Birding in the park starts at kanyachu where you will be taken around the different birding trails in the park where you will have the chance to see a number of rare bird species like the Papyrus Gonolek, White-winged Warbler, White-collared Olive back and Papyrus Canary. You can also take  part in birding when you visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary where you will see bird species like the White-spotted Fluff tail, African pitta, Abyssinian ground thrush, Crowned eagle, Dusky crimson wing, Black-capped Apalis, Collared Apalis, Purple-breasted sunbird Yellow-spotted Barbet, Hairy-breasted Barbet, Yellow-billed Barbet, Western Nicator, Grey-winged Robin-chat, White-tailed Ant-thrush, Brown-backed Scrub-robin,  among others for an amazing time while on your safari

Nature walks

Among other activities in Kibale national park that you can take part in, nature walks will give you a relaxing adventure during your safari as you get to see a number of attractions and relaxing viewing as you make your way through the different hiking trails in the park.

You will get to see a number of attractions like the different primate species  like the chimpanzees, monkey species swinging from one tree branch to another making it perfect for photography, during the walks you will also get to see a number of butterfly and bird species which will make your activity quite rewarding. Interesting about nature walks in Kibale national park is the fact that you will have the opportunity to take part in the nocturnal nature walks where you will see the forest come to life at night with the help of spot lights that can be hired from the reception. Community encounters

The community tours are other activities that you can take part in during your safari where you will get to visit a number of community projects that have been established in relation to tourism. You will get the chance to visit a number of community projects like the KAFRED (Kibale Association For Rural and Economic Development) the community initiative that was established in order to gain socio-economic impacts for the local communities where they can sell a number of crafts among other tourist items in exchange for money which has in the long run led to the development of the region.  Some of the established businesses that tourists can visit include arts and crafts where tourists can buy souvenirs whose materials are got from Bigodi swamp home to over 138 bird species.

Bushcraft Children Activities:

Bush crafts are usually carried out by children under the age of 15 years usually when their parents take part in chimpanzee trekking one of the most sought after activity in Kibale national park. during the activity, the children will have a small tour through the park where they will see a number of attractions like the monkey species as they get to where they can take part in the different bushcraft activities like basket weaving, making souvenir, making mats among other crafts for an amazing time in the park.
