AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK

Mount Bisoke Hike

on your fourth day you will participate in mount bisoke hike or you can opt to participate golden monkey trekking in the park which will also lead you to the Albertine endemic primate species which will give you access to a number of attractions as you hike the Virunga mountains to get to the habituated chimpanzee troops.

On your fifth day in the country you will them transfer to Nyungwe national park through Kigali city. The transfer will take you about 9 hours to reach the park having stopover at the king’s palace to understand more about the history of Rwanda before colonialism. After the stopover you will have lunch and then transfer to a hotel of your choice for dinner and overnight stay.

On your sixth day, you will wake up very early to participate in chimpanzee trekking in Rwanda. You will have the chance to watch the chimpanzees in the wild like; they will be seen chattering, laughing, you will get to observe the females’ red bottoms during ovulation which is a sign that they are ready to mate with the males among other interesting features.  After the rewarding experience, you will then return to your hotel to freshen up, have lunch then spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing at your hotel. You can also participate in the community tour to help you understand more about the culture of the people of Rwanda by visiting the cultural group where you will be entertained by their traditional dances, you will watch how they prepares their local dishes and many other interesting features off the cultural groups.

On your seventh day in the park you will go on a walking trail that will take you to the Canopy Walk-a swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees. You will be able to see the amazing rainforest with a bird’s eye view, spotting wildlife moving about below you there after you will then transfer back to Kigali city where you will be dropped off at a location of your choice and the end of your safari.
