Detailed itinerary for your 4 days Kahuzi Biega and Nyungwe National Park safari

Day 1: Pick-up and cross to Bukavu

Depending on your location in Kigali where your safari starts, our company representative-guide/driver will pick you up and drive for about 7 hours through Nyungwe National Park which we can  also inco-operate in your safari  where you  can participate in chimpanzee trekking in Rwanda. along the way, you will be mesmerized by the rolling hill in Rusizi with stopovers for lunch and refreshing. Cross through Cyangugu border to Bukavu town in Democratic Republic of Congo. On arrival at Bukavu, nearest town to Kahuzi Biega, make your way to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Orchid safari lodge

Day 2: Lowland gorilla trekking – Cyangungu

After enjoying your breakfast at the lodge, our driver guide will pick you up and transfer you to  the park headquarters for about 45 minutes for briefing about the Eastern lowland gorillas. You will then set off to your fascinating experience of the lowland gorillas in the valleys of Kahuzi as you encounter different mammals as you hike along the different trails in the park birds and primates. It’s usually a 1-6 hours’ experience of the jungle, depending on their movement of the primates while watching them interact/play with each other as you take photos and videos. After the experience, you will then descend back and meet up with your driver back to your hotel for Dinner and overnight at Orchid Safari Lodge as night before.

Day 3: Transfer back to Nyungwe national park

After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will make your way to Kigali city. It’s a 7 hours’ drive  to Nyungwe national park On reaching the park, you will go on a walking trail that will take you to Canopy Walk the  swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees. You will be able to see the amazing rainforest with a bird’s eye view, spotting wildlife moving about below you there after connect to your accommodation to spend the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Gisakura Visitor Centre/ Nyungwe Top hill view hotel

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and transfer back to Kigali city

Enjoy breakfast and go for briefing about the endangered chimpanzees before entering the forest in search of the active and playful fellows in Nyungwe forest. The Chimpanzees are much easier to spot as they jump from one tree to another, chattering and laughing. Chimpanzee tracking usually takes about 3 hours. On finding them, spend an hour while taking pictures and videos.  You will then return to your hotel to freshen up, have lunch then check out then embark on a 5 hours drive back to Kigali city  where you will be dropped off at a location of your choice and the end of your 4 days Kahuzi biega and Nyungwe National Park safari
